Welcome to the CivicsEDU Advisory Network, a community of scholars and practitioners dedicated to advancing civics education in America. Our Advisory Network plays a crucial role in guiding CivicsEDU through their expertise and passion for civic literacy.

About the Advisory Network

The CivicsEDU Advisory Network is comprised of educators, historians, political scientists, public administrators, nonprofit executives, and community leaders. Members volunteer their time to advise CivicsEDU staff on matters related to their professional interests and the organization’s mission.

Key Points to Know

  • Flexible Commitment: There is no set time commitment, and the Advisory Network does not convene for regular meetings. However, the Executive Director may host quarterly virtual open houses to provide updates.
  • Service Commitment: Members pledge to serve CivicsEDU for one year, renewable annually with their permission. Membership may be revoked at the discretion of CivicsEDU.
  • Engagement: Members may be called upon to provide guidance and expertise to support CivicsEDU projects. While assistance is voluntary, members are encouraged to contribute to the organization’s success.
  • Advocacy: The Advisory Network acts as ambassadors for CivicsEDU, advocating for its mission within their respective communities and networks.
