It’s been a long time coming, but in an exciting development for the organization, CivicsEDU proudly announces the appointment of three distinguished individuals to its inaugural Board of Trustees. Olanda Carr, Dr. Christa Flood, and Leah Patrick bring a wealth of experience and expertise, promising to propel CivicsEDU to new heights in its mission to foster civic engagement and education.
Olanda Carr, is a Ministry Relations Officer for the Presbyterian Church Foundation (PCF). His geographic area includes ministries, community partners, and other stakeholders in the Carolinas, Virginia, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Delaware. In this capacity, he manages relationship cultivations within the religious and nonprofit sectors to financially develop organizations by availing them to the services and expertise offered by the PCF.
Dr. Christa Flood, a seasoned educator with a commitment to transformative learning experiences, is the Director of School & District Strategy for Teach for America North Carolina. She manages almost 100 partnerships with schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Guilford County, Edgecombe County, Pitt County, and several charter schools. She’s a long time classroom educator as well as a former school administrator.
Leah Patrick, is the President and Head of Product at GovDollars Consulting, the company behind Lomali, a cloud-based software solution suite for local governments to enhance and streamline their budget development processes. She is also a former public servant, serving in various local government positions with Wake County (NC), the City of Raleigh (NC), and Travis County (TX).
The addition of Olanda Carr, Dr. Christa Flood, and Leah Patrick to CivicsEDU’s inaugural Board of Trustees marks a significant milestone for the organization. Their diverse backgrounds, expertise, and unwavering commitment to civic education will undoubtedly steer CivicsEDU toward even greater success.
