Today, we are thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Kathleen (Katie) Hunt to our esteemed Board of Trustees. Dr. Hunt’s appointment marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to fostering excellence in civic education.
Dr. Hunt, an accomplished environmental justice expert and FUSE Corps Executive Fellow, is the Interim Executive Director at the International Environmental Communication Association. Concurrently, she serves as the project manager for the Reuse Hub Project with the City of Durham (NC). With a wealth of experience as a researcher, educator, and facilitator, Dr. Hunt has dedicated nearly a decade to impactful projects centered on enhancing food access and promoting environmental equity.
In her role as a Trustee, Dr. Hunt will play a key part in steering CivicsEDU’s strategic initiatives. Her commitment to promoting diversity and fostering a sense of civic responsibility aligns seamlessly with our core values. We are confident that under Dr. Hunt’s guidance, CivicsEDU will continue to be a driving force in revolutionizing the way we educate youth and adults about their roles and responsibilities in society.
