We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey to educate and empower citizens about their civic rights and responsibilities. CivicsEDU has officially been granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), marking a new chapter in our mission to make civics education accessible to all.

This achievement is the result of dedicated effort and unwavering commitment to our cause. CivicsEDU was incorporated by the State of North Carolina on September 26, 2022, laying the foundation for what has now become a recognized and trusted organization in the field of civics education. After diligently working on our application, we applied for tax-exempt status on May 14, 2024, and we are delighted to share that our application has been approved.

Receiving tax-exempt status is not just an administrative milestone; it is a testament to the importance and legitimacy of our work. As a 501(c)(3) organization, CivicsEDU can now:

• Receive Tax-Deductible Donations: Contributions to CivicsEDU are now tax-deductible, making it easier and more attractive for supporters to contribute to our mission.
• Apply for Grants: Our new status opens doors to a wider range of funding opportunities, allowing us to apply for grants and other forms of financial support that are exclusively available to tax-exempt organizations.
• Expand Our Impact: With increased financial support, we can broaden our reach and enhance our programs, ensuring that more citizens have access to quality civics education.

In light of our new tax-exempt status, we are excited to announce that we will soon publish our donation platform on our website. This resource will enable our supporters—individuals, corporate entities, and community partners—to make financial or in-kind tax-exempt contributions with ease. We plan to launch this platform within the next couple of months, providing a seamless way for you to support our mission and contribute to the growth of civics education.
