Last Saturday, a few members of Team CivicsEDU joined the Black Economic Leadership League (B.E.L.L.) of Rock Hill, South Carolina for a delicious brunch and a spirited discussion on civil rights and civil liberties and the importance of preserving them in today’s tumultuous social and political environment.

The team — comprising of CEO Team Director Peyton Babson, Civics Coach Intern Isabella Sherman, and Executive Director Kaelan Boyd — led the participants on an hour and a half learning journey filled with informative content, interactive activities, and thought-provoking discussions.

Following the event, the team conducted a brief survey to gather participant feedback on the content presented. With nearly all respondents reporting that they felt “informed” after the seminar, we view the event as a strong success — especially since our work centers on strengthening civic knowledge to promote informed action.
